It&rsquo;s beautiful. It&rsquo;s iconic. It&rsquo;s&hellip; <em>kind of expensive<\/em>, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I used to think so too&mdash;until I actually went. But with a little flexibility, I found round-trip tickets for just under $1000 for 2 people. Even that is a bit higher than some of the best deals out there, though. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are flying from a major city like New York, you can find round-trip tickets for under $400 pretty easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tips that worked for me:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/flights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Flights<\/a> and set price alerts a few months in advance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flying out on a <strong>Tuesday<\/strong> and back on a <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> shaved off nearly $100.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I flew into <strong>Orly Airport<\/strong>, not Charles de Gaulle&mdash;less hectic and often cheaper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#128073; <strong>Best times to book<\/strong>: January, February, or early November. I splurged a bit so Liz and I could have some privacy and we got a double room. However, for about &euro;35-&euro;45\/night, you can get a clean bed, lockers, and an awesome vibe (loved the atmosphere!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dorm beds<\/strong>: &euro;20&ndash;&euro;45 in low season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Private rooms<\/strong>: Around &euro;90&ndash;&euro;200 if you want privacy but still access hostel vibes and kitchens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Others I looked into: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joandjoe.com\/paris-nation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JO&amp;JOE Paris Nation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/staygenerator.com\/destinations\/paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Generator Paris<\/a> are also solid picks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#128506;&#65039; <strong>Where to look<\/strong>: Montmartre, Belleville, the 11th&ndash;13th arrondissements. Always from a boulangerie. It&rsquo;s cheap, reloadable, and gets you around effortlessly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starting in 2025, everything will be flat fare&mdash;no more confusing zones!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I also used my <strong>credit card with tap<\/strong> on the metro (make sure yours has no foreign fees).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>V&eacute;lib&rsquo; Biking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For &euro;5, I unlocked unlimited short bike rides across the city.
